Let Go: Go with the Flow

By  |

What does it mean to truly “go with the flow”? Are you sitting on the side of the riverbank judging and fearing as life passes you by? Paul Selig shares his life wisdom on what it means to jump into the river and go with the flow and how it will help rejoin you to a higher order of life.

Within all of us is the capacity and desire to reach our full potential and be the very best we can be. It’s when we achieve this greatness that we feel in the flow of life as if our lives have meaning . Still, if we observe our day-to-day choices, we may find a sea of spiritual emptiness. Instead of proceeding through life with a sense of joy, happiness, and wonder, we tend to fill our days with endless tasks for the purpose of satisfying our material safety. So, what’s the cause of our predicament? There are certainly many culprits we can point out, namely societal norms or the expectations of our parents or bosses, but Paul Selig’s “Book of Love and Creation”, suggests taking a look at ourselves. One of my major takeaways from his book is that everything surrounding us is a reflection of our personal choices and that we are ultimately accountable for shaping our reality. If we release our self-imposed constraints, only then can we free ourselves to understand who we are, what we want, and where we want to go. This often becomes a path full of expectations, ardor, and pressured passion. What would happen if we could let go of trying so hard? Of thinking so much? What if all we had to do was connect to a higher wisdom that could guide us to our highest path? Simply put, what if we just let go and went with the flow of life?

How do you go with the flow of life?

Each of us has an aspect of God within us. Whether we feel or sense it, it is there. At times, our lives can be out of alignment with our God-Like self, or our Highest Self. This disconnection happens when we step out of the flow of life. Paul Selig uses the analogy of a river to help explain what it means to “go with the flow”. When we step away from the river and sit on the riverbank, we are choosing to sit on the sidelines. Here,  a part of us (our ego) can feel a sense of safety from being in known territory and in an area that you and everybody else agree with.

Paul Selig asked his teachers to offer wisdom on what it means to go with the flow. Check out their response here. (http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=33m50s)

“The river is a metaphor for how you express yourself and the flow is your alignment of freedom to be in congruence with the Divine. When you are in congruence with the Divine, you are in alignment to the fabric of all.  You can see that as a river as you like, you can see it as an expression in consort with all that is, but who you are has always being expressed, that is what you are. Being an expression, the level of expression for you to know yourself is what you get to choose. Low vibration, if you wish, and we use the metaphor of sitting on the riverbank demanding to have your way. When you are in current in the frequency of the river, you are trusting the freedom and the source of all that is to move you to where you need to be.”—Channeled on YouTube Video.

The work at this juncture is choosing what we will do. Will we jump into the river and navigate the mystery of unknown water, or will we remain in the shallowness of familiarity? Either way, our choice represents the distinction between free will versus Divine will.

What is the difference between Free Will, Divine Will, and Predestination?

It all comes down to the choices we make in life, a process known as our free will. Some may want to blame our hardships on other people or on our creator, but the causality for our life events is solely dependent on our Free Will.

Paul’s teachers share their sense of free will, divine will, and predestination here (http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=35m53s).

“Free will is what we have been given to work with. Divine will is the expression of the Divine as us, and that is the agreement. The key is the alignment of the free will with the Divine will with our free will. No one can choose for us.  There are certain things that we come here in agreement to learn, there are lessons that we sign on for before we incarnate to a human body. This is the only way that predestination factors into the equation. However, we can attend to these learning what we need to learn in different ways. These lessons are a checklist for things that we need to go forward with. We choose much more than we think, we are really not a victim of anything. We are always in agreement in circumstance at one level or another. You just don’t know why. Because you come to learn different things. You judge what you feel, and when you think that it isn’t what I wanted, it cannot be good, but you are only looking at a limited picture. You can’t see the whole and the reason for it.” –Channeled in YouTube video.

Paul shares what his predestined contracts are here: (http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=41m56s).

“God does not create pain, God does not align to pain, you do. And as you create through your fear, you create trouble” p 162.

“Experiences in this life that you cannot understand or cannot accept as a good thing. And some of these, in fact, are chosen prior to incarnation by the soul in order to balance karma or to learn certain lessons that will be of benefit to others in later lifetimes”. P163.

Paul provides two stories about free will and reveals how one of the worst and painful experiences in his life turned out to be an opportunity.

In the book, Paul’s teachers offer the following intention:

“ I am now choosing to align my will to the Higher Will in order to make those choices that will bring me into embodiment” p 158.

Paul describes his own life path and how all his seemingly unrelated work experiences have begun to make sense over time here. (http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=42m20s)

How do we connect and go with the Flow of Love?

Ultimately, we have the free will to attune ourselves to the lowest part of our nature (fear) or to the highest part of our nature (love) and our higher knowing. Fear is to believe in separation and to engage in anything that strengthens the power of negativity (greed, fear, envy, sloth, anger, jealousy). It’s with our free will that we choose to rise above this lower emotion, energy or vibration.

But how do we connect to the highest part of our nature and our inner knowing? In Paul Selig’s book “The Book of Love and Creation”, connecting to our highest path is simply choosing to connect with a higher frequency or vibration. From that place of knowing, we can navigate the world around us.

Paul suggests that for two weeks we set a daily intention and make a habit of it:

“I now set the intention to align my frequency up the highest level and octave available to me in my consciousness at this time. And I set the intention that I will monitor my consciousness through my feelings and through my expressions as the day goes on, so that I may be come accountable to my experience as an energy being operating in consciousness and through frequency.” P40

While we may set our intentions, the work comes in overcoming the collective fear and the general consensus that we are not safe in the universe.

What is collective agreement of fear?

One of the primary reasons we choose not to “go with the flow” is because we feel more comfortable using our Free Will to connect with societal beliefs, such as money equals happiness or greed is good. Where do these norms lead us? Often times, these public, cultural, or planetary standards are only here to control and limit us.

Paul explains how these norms create a collective state of fear that we all buy into. It’s when we invite “fear” into our way of thinking that we are choosing to perpetuate it. Learn more here: (http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=22m27s).

“…The pain that is in the world now is the result of thousands of years of conscious restriction that has borne pain and suffering. Your choice now as a species is to become responsible to the self that think and creates and to the brother that stands beside you.” P162

WHy don’t i feel safe?

The moment we truly vibrate at a higher level is when we are able to recognize fear and realize that we’re all safe. The challenge, though, is overcoming our ego, or the thing that represents our property, our bodies, or the way we have identified ourselves in position with others. Learn more here: http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=31m45s.

“When you are frightened of something, you call it to you. Now if you call it to you, you have the choice in how you deal with it in consciousness. You can work with it and realign yourself to higher frequency in order to become free, which is to say, you recognize it for what it is, and then move forward in your higher frequency, or you go into it, you battle, and let the best man win. But frankly, most of you are engaging in your fear are surrendering to the fear and letting fear have its way” p148.

How do you define Judgment? All different forms (judge other, judge yourself).

One of the ways that fear reveals itself is through our judgments of other people. Criticism is merely a mirror of the things we don’t like within ourselves. When we pass judgment on someone, we withhold love from that person. This is also a way of not “going with the flow”, in this case, the flow of love.

“ And when you are in judgment, you are stopping the action of the Creator from operating as you, because you have chosen his stead, as it were. You have decided to be the one who can judge. “p196

Here are some questions that Paul’s teachers suggest we contemplate:

  • Where am I reprimanding myself in any way as I go about my day?
  • Where am I stopping the flow of love that could come through me in action?
  • Where am I doing this?

What is the difference between judging someone and judging someone’s performance? It is not our duty to judge another person’s character because what you judge you fear. Paul explains here: (http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=24m14s).

During the interview, Paul explained how judging is operating from a lower consciousness.

Check out his interpretation of a recent case where CJ judged a waitress here (http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=31m27s). He explains that because CJ felt a sense of indignity that someone would not meet her needs, she ultimately passed judgment as a way of protecting her ego.

When is it ok to judge? Why we make snap judgments?

Judging is the act of stepping out of love. It is from this place that we perceive ourselves as superior to the person we’re judging.

Although, comparing (the concept of drawing an analogy between one thing and another) is a natural humanistic process, it can help build our self-awareness if we identify the reasons for making snap judgments in the first place.

Here are some questions to help us get curious:

  • What do you get by being right? Or better?
  • What do you get by standing in judgment?
  • What fear is the reprimand masking?
  • What am I protecting?
  • Why do I need this? What does it get me?

Ultimately, you can see this line of thinking moves us toward separation and away from love and oneness.

“When you judge you step out of the flow of love, the trick is to gain insight on what brought you to the river bank to begin with. When you need a rest for processing your experiences, you can pull over to the side. But when you are in unforgiveness or you are tethered through your reprimanding of another, you climb out of the water and you sit happily and proudly on your riverbank while love flows right by you. And guess what, everybody? To the extent that you do this, you bock your ability to be in love. And as you are not in love, you are out of the province and the jurisdiction of your Creator in terms of your frequency requiring a new alignment in order to move forward”. P197

Paul guides CJ through her own judgments and offers insight to what judgment is and how not to go into self-reprimand http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=30m20s

What is the state of the union at this moment?

“State of the union is who you are, who you say you are. And what you claim is what you bring to yourself. And how you know yourself sets up the expectation for the life you live. The state of the union is the state of who you are independently and collectively. The collective agreement to be in transformation is what changes your world. Each one of you contributes to this by claiming yourself in a higher way. But until you realize, you are who you are at your Essence. At your essence, you are unafraid, you will continue to create fear in what you see around you, that you concur and agree with everyday are structures born in fear. When you are no longer aligning to those things because you know better, you are operating at a higher way. You call the new truth and that becomes the new agreement.”—Channeled Text. How can reading a book attune the reader to the text and be an energetic transmission?

Paul Selig has channeled three texts: I am the World, The Book of Creation, and The Book of Knowing and Self-Worth. These books are a result of Paul’s clairaudient ability, which is the ability to hear a spirit’s voice. The books are a transcription of word channeled from Spiritual Teachers that communicate with Paul. All three of the books are intended to help us fully realize our Divine Selves and our ability to shape and create the reality around us.

Paul explains that each book has an energetic transmission and attunement that allows the reader to receive the support we need to vibrate at a higher vibration or frequency. Find out more here (http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=1m24s)

Here’s an excerpt from an Amazon book review that explains one reader’s experience with the book:

“How can I attempt to describe this powerful book? Maybe by stating that my receptivity to this specific work began when I was given the first book, I Am the Word. I hadn’t heard of Paul Selig prior to that, and before I was through the first section I had to write to him to both thank him, and explain that I was having the most unusual physical sensations each time I picked it up to read. My body would tingle, and my head felt as if the top were lifting off … I know. It sounds nuts. I wondered if I was imagining it.

He wrote back and explained that this is what the Guides, the loving teachers who dictated the words to Paul, had intended. That something in us would begin to shift as we responded to the frequency that is actually encoded within the words on the pages. I relished that book and read and reread it several times, each time having a new, heightened experience as I understood the lessons on deeper and deeper levels. My life began to shift significantly. Large issues came up and were resolved in powerful ways. It was hard work, but meaningful and lasting. I called that book my “Magic Book.”

The second book, The Book of Love and Creation, reinforced and explained much of what had started manifesting in my life. Almost like a workbook, it both kept me on track and gave me new tools to employ. It became easier for me to form a clearer picture of what I want in my life. I felt more balanced, clear-headed, happy and ready for my life to become more beautiful than ever. When I finished it I felt like I needed more instruction. I had some great new tools in my hands, but I wasn’t quite sure how to use them or what I was supposed to make with them. I was eager for the third book, hoping it would fill in the pieces that were still missing for me.

I received The Book of Knowing and Worth, on Christmas Eve. And … geez, I thought giving a little background leading up to it would help me know what to say … It’s in a different class. I feel like I just jumped from high school to a doctorate program. It’s accelerated! Incredibly powerful! If you felt any energy movement with the first two books like I did, you just might need to lie down to read this one.

Over the past few years working with these books, I’ve had some amazing experiences that are difficult to describe without sounding like I’ve lost it. This book explains those experiences in detailed, practical terms – how is that possible? It’s incredibly affirming. I feel attended to. The Book of Knowing and Worth is leading me over a new threshold, and in my openness to it my life is blossoming in ways that were no more than hopes and wishes just weeks ago”- Serena Rockey on January 9, 2014, Amazon book review.

What is channeling? What does Paul remember from his channeling?

Paul describes how he had some type of energetic experience in his mid 20s that unexpectedly revealed his abilities as a clairsentient and clairaudient. Despite his resistance to these powers, he continued to offer his channeling to groups of people. He would dictate his channeled information, or lectures as he calls them, to a person over the phone and the unedited transcripts are what contributed to the compilation of his books. Paul describes the process here: (http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=3m43s)

When Paul is a channel he whispers the transmission and then says it louder. He only remembers information about fifty percent of the time and doesn’t really know what was said until he reads the lectures that comprised his books. Listen to what he remembers from his channeling here (http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=6m49s).

Paul describes how familiar he is with the information that is being taught through these transmissions here. (http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=8m39s)

Paul explains how his last book, “The Book of Knowing and Worth” helped him attend to his consciousness and claim his Divine worth here (http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=14m58s).

The teachers are now channeling a new book called, “The book of Mastery” with Paul. He describes how he is now called to do “the work” himself. Unlike his previous work, this new phenomenon, or stage of development, isn’t what the teachers call, convenient. It requires putting forth effort to let go of who we THINK we are (our identity), so that we can experience who we TRULY are (a Divine being), which is way more powerful. http://youtu.be/HyBSdHiuT0Y?t=9m12s.

Paul Selig -Psychic, teacher, and author of the channeled texts, I Am the Word, The Book of Love and Creation, and The Book of Knowing and Worth.

paul-selig-2012-compressedIn his breakthrough works of channeled literature, I Am the Word, The Book of Love and Creation and The Book of Knowing and Worth, author and medium Paul Selig recorded an extraordinary program for personal and planetary evolution as humankind awakens to its own divine nature. I Am the Word, The Book of Love and Creation and The Book of Knowing and Worth are energetic transmissions that works directly on its readers to bring them into alignment with the frequency of the Word, which Paul’s guides call the energy of “God in Action.”

Paul was born in New York City and received his Master’s Degree from Yale. He had a spiritual experience in 1987 that left him clairvoyant. As a way to gain a context for what he was beginning to experience, he studied a form of energy healing, working at Marianne Williamson’s Manhattan Center for Living and in private practice. In the process, he began to “hear” for his clients, and much of Paul’s work now is as a clairaudient, clairvoyant, channel, and empath.

Paul has led channeled energy groups for many years. In 2009 he was invited to channel at the Esalen Institute’s Superpowers symposium, where he was filmed for the upcoming documentary film Authors of the Impossible. He is the subject of the short documentary film Paul & the Word and is featured on the A&E/Biography channel series The UneXplained, which premiered in August, 2012. His numerous radio appearances include Coast to Coast AM with George Noory. His recent and upcoming workshops include include The Kripalu Center in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, The Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York and the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, Calfornia. Also a noted playwright and educator, Paul serves on the faculty of NYU and directs the MFA in Creative Writing Program at Goddard College. He lives in New York City, where he maintains a private practice as an intuitive.
