What are the Akashic Records?

Linda describes the Akashic Record in her book “How to Read the Akashic Records” as follows:

“The Akashic records are a dimension of consciousness that contains a vibrational record of every soul and its journey.  This vibrational body of consciousness exists everywhere in its entirety and it completely available at all times and in all places.  As such, the Records are an experiential body of knowledge that contains everything that every soul has every thought, said, and done over the course of its existences, as well as all its future possibilities.” Howe, L., & Looye, J. “The Records can be understand as the “Cosmic Chronicles of You”; an energetic archive, a dimension of consciousness, that tells the story of your soul’s journey through space and time as a human being. .. Records contain an experiential body of wisdom that comprises everything that every soul has ever though, said, and done over the course of it’s existence, as well as all its future possibilities.  They are formed of energy and exist simultaneously within us as people, and beyond the material world in a vibrational dimension.” Howe, L. To me, it feels like a well intentioned version of the NSA for this life and all your past lives, but one which is intended for your personal growth and betterment. However, unlike the NSA the records are not governed or owned by any institution, but available to all.

Here are some other definitions of Akaha from Edgar Cayce (1877-1945),  who was one of the first people who did readings from the Akasha publically:

“Upon time and space is written the thoughts, the deeds, the activities of an entity – as in relationships to its environs, its hereditary influence; as directed – or judgment drawn by or according to what the entity’s ideal is. Hence, as it has been oft called, the record is God’s book of remembrance; and each entity, each soul – as the activities of a single day of an entity in the material world – either makes same good or bad or indifferent, depending upon the entity’s application of self towards that which is the ideal manner for the use of time, opportunity and the expression of that for which each soul enters a material manifestation. Who has access the Akashic Records?

The Records can be accessed by anyone.  The Akashic Records includes information about you, and your soul’s journey and evolution.  However, no one can access a specific  person’s personal Akashic Records without permission.  Plus, the records are only accessed versus some spiritual encounters where you will get a visit from a spiritual being.

How are records protected?

The Akashic Records are protected by spiritual beings who Linda refers to as Masters, Teachers and Loved Ones. These Keepers help us access our Akashic Records, but also hold strong energetic protection for the information contained therein.  Linda describes four departments of the Records, managed by four groups of Light Being Servers.  These light beings are different than spirit guides, angels, or channeled personality entities. In addition, only offer information that we are ready to handle is offered to us.

Who are the light beings that work with the records?

Linda describes each of the beings that work with the records.

She describes the Lords of the Records as being responsible for safeguarding the records from corruption, diminishment, and pollution.  They determine who gains access and when someone can gain access.

The Masters of the records are beings that we have a relationship with from our inception and throughout time. Masters are dedicated to your soul’s eveolution.  The Master’s decide how the Akashic transmissions are to be utilized and also arrange for support needed to integragete higher levels of consciousness.  Masters choose the best Teachers and Loved ones for us during each life time

The Teachers are similar to those in all spiritual systems.  They teach us lessons, but are not devoted to a specific soul.  As such, we ma have many teachers during a lifetime as we have many things to learn.

Linda describes the Loved Ones as people we knew during a lifetime that have now passed and assist us on the other side.  Additionally, they provide comfort, confidence, and ecnoruagement.

Who uses the Akashic Records, and why?

Linda describes that mystics, saints and scholars have accessed the Akashic for centuries.   She describes in her first book “How to Read the Akashic Records”:

“ Infinite power and wisdom are available in the Records and they have been entrusted to those who are well prepared for the responsibility of deep knowing.  In both Eastern and Western traditions, there have been mystery schools preparing seekers for esoteric knowledge.. Times have changed, however.  The collective consciousness of the human race has been growing, evolving, and maturing.  In the process, humanity has moved from the age of dependence on a spiritual “parent’ to spiritual independence and responsibility.  This spiritual independence is marked by individuals knowing that they have direct access to the spiritual source, and by using their independence to cultivate that relationship.   .

What skills do you need to access the Akashic Records?

You don’t need to be a psychic or have special intuitive powers or psychic abilities to get into the Akashic Records.  While there is no training involved, it may be nice initially to use a meditation or a process initially (see below for how to access records).  Linda writes in her blog post, “all you have to do is to be alive, and have a sincere desire of the heart. That is all it takes to get started. You will be fine. Just give yourself a chance”.

How is the Akashic Record stored?

According to Linda Howe,the information is stored by our formal legal name, whether it is the same or different from your birth name (e.g. married name). It’s the name that you’ll see on your driver’s license, passport, etc.   Every name has a distinct vibrational quality, so when we open a particular Soul’s Records, we us the name that the soul is currently using in this lifetime.  The vibration of that name then makes available to us the “set of Records” pertaining to that person.

Linda explains that once a name is made legal, it is established on the Earth plane as the path of realization of the soul.  Changing a name changes the path of discovery; potentials and probabilities that are linked to a legal name.  If

How to read akashic records?

The records can accessed through the subconscious mind.  As such, any technique that accesses the subconscious can be used.  There are some that access the records through dreams, hypnosis, Reiki, meditation, Shamanic journeys, etc.    While there are many ways to gain access to the Records, you may want to start off using a proven process.   Linda cautions against using drugs or alchol within 24 hours of opening the records since they weaken the boundary of your energy field and make it more challenging to manage surging energies.   In addition, she suggests not combining work in the Akashic Records with any other spiritual practice.

What information is stored in the akashic record?

Linda describes the information contained in the Akashic Record in her first book “How to Read the Akashic Records”:

“The records hold the archive of each soul as it has existed from lifetime to lifetime as different human beings on the earth plane while evolving throughout time and space.  A human incarnation occurs as a specific manifestation of the perfect blueprint of the soul.  The idea of the human experience is to become in the physical the perfect self that already exists in the Akasha at the soul level.  Growing into the awareness of one’s spiritual nature and being able to anchors that awareness in the physical and become that optimal self on the earth plane take time- many lifetimes, in fact.  In the Records, we are able to see and register our various incarnations.  So in essence, the Akaschic Records are both the perfect soul-level blueprint and the catalogue of experiences of an individual soul as it grows into awareness of itself as a spiritual being.  Divine in nature and manifesting in the physical earth-arena” p8

Can the Akasha be used to predict the future?

Linda explains that there are better tools suited for divination or forecasting the future such as clairvoyance, astrology, or tarot.  She describes that the primary concern of the records is to include general information on who you are, who you know yourself to be, and who you are becoming.

Is everything stored within the records?

What information is stored about my soul’s mission?

Within the record is a database of information about a soul or entities’s mission, purpose, and journey throughout life times.  Linda explains in her book ““How to Read the Akashic Records” that the records are always changing and expanding and as our souls evolve, our Records are updated each time and contain the past, and present.  The Akasha is not a divination tool, but can be used to look at future possibility, probability, and eventuality.

Akashic Readings

Linda suggests that once you are doing a reading that you adhere to the three Absolutes: Judge not, Fear Not, and Resist Not.  In her book Discover your soul’s path through the Akashic records: Taking your life from ordinary to extraordinary, she offers an Akashic reading to use to ensure you use the readings as a way to grow, learn and love yourself, versus judging yourself and your past actions.

What should I ask?

Linda recommends asking open ended questions.  She suggests asking “Why” and “How is this a benefit” to be a dynamic duo of inquiry.  Her experience is that “how, where, and when: are not as helpful.  She also finds that asking if you “should” or “must” do something and looking for directives are less helpful.  The kinds of things you can get through records are new levels of insight, clarity and compassion for ourselves and others. The Akasha helps you evaluate options, and make wise selections.

You may want to do a reading when you are having a problem.  You could use the process within Linda’s Book “Discover your soul’s path through the Akashic records: Taking your life from ordinary to extraordinary” to get at the root of the problem. You could ask to see if your problem is that you are having a judgment about your situation, if you are in harmony with authority of the situation?  Have I outgrown a discipline? Is this out of alignment with my heart, mind, and will? As I denying a soul-level responsibility? Am I confused between responsibilities and task? Is it time to move to a greater level of commitment? What can I dod to increase my awareness of grace? How is my Inner Triangle:

During a reading, she suggests a few simple questions:

• Awareness: What am I noticing? What is presenting? What do I detect, observe, sense or feel?
• Acceptance: What is happening? What is not happening? Can I be ok and accept “what is”?
• Appreciation: What good can come out of this situation? What are some unforeseen benefits?
• Appropriate Action: What are the needs that need to be addressed so I can move foward?

What are the 5 pillars of light?

Here’s how Linda explains the 5 pillars in her book “ Discovering your Soul’s Path through the Akaschic Records”

“The pillars are concepts expressed in terms of light vibrations.. Each concept is identified by a precise vibration of light, and each embodies a distinct variation on the theme of light. Yet the entired body of light also operates as a unit, comparable to white light shining through a prism.  Your interpretation of these five concepts determines the quality of your functioning in the world.

These five pillars surround a central pillar of grace- a stresm of infinite light- where your Triange of heart, mind, and will resides.  The Triangle finds anchor within the vibratory rhythms of that light. The central pillar is anchored at the root of your body; it extends out though the crown of youer head.  The surrounding pillars rest in the pelvic floor, extending through the trunk of the body up through the ceiling of the heart center.

When viewed from above, these beams of light form a magnificent five-pointed star, with light emanation from the central pillar and the give distinct points.  This Star bears the weight of your dense human self- and thereby allows the light of the soul to shine…

Divinely arranged, this five pointed Star literally upholds you, allowing you to move through the everyday world with the light of your soul shining and the ability to receive the gifts of your life. The Star exists; there is no need to “create” anything.  Your role is simply to maintain the structure which you can do by living in harmony with these five concepts expressed by the star: Incarnation, Authority, Discipline, Responsibility, and Commitment…”p5

When our interpretation of these five concepts are congruent with our present identify, then the pillars are supportive.  However, when our thoughts and feelings of these concepts are burdened by old ideas, then the light of the pillars are obstructed” p 6

What are 5 essential concepts we must master?

According to the Akashic Readings done by Linda Howe, there are five points are needed for manifesting your soul’s purpose.  In her book, Discover your soul’s path through the Akashic records: Taking your life from ordinary to extraordinary, she describes these concepts as follows:

• Incarnation: How do we make peace with having to be a spirit in a body? How do we embrace the body as a direct expression of your soul and honor that it is needed for your soul’s intention and purposes?
• Authority: How do we accept that we are not the creators of the universe and that there are forces greater than us at work? How can we accept the wisdom and energy without judgment from these authorities?
• Discipline: How to manage our energy and use it to manifest our soul’s purpose?
• Responsibility: What are our soul level responsibilities? How can we honor them? What stopes us from honoring them?
• Commitment- Commitment fuses us on a track. It’s when our heart, mind, and soul are super charged. How can we change the way we view commitemtn so that they super charge our tasks?
