For the past twenty-five years, after completing his training at Harvard Medical School’s McLean Hospital, board-certified psychiatrist Michael Pearlman shares his success stories with the Law of Attraction. Learn the process of Law of Attraction Journaling and how you can manifest better health, relationships, and money.
What is the law of attraction?
The law of attraction is based on a theory that “like energy attracts like energy”. In other words, the situations, people, and life events that you attract corresponds with your habitual thoughts and beliefs, both of which are stored in your subconscious. For example, if you think, feel, and behave as though you are unworthy, you will attract people who will reinforce that notion.
“The law of attraction is that our thinking creates and brings to us whatever we think about,” she says. “It’s as though every time we think a thought, every time we speak a word, the universe is listening and responding to us. We don’t want to put ourselves down,” she says. “We don’t want to say, ‘Oh, it will never work for me,’ or ‘I’m not good enough.’ Because that’s what the universe hears and returns to you.”
Instead, Louise says you can transform your life by staying positive. “You have to start saying things that you feel really good about yourself. ‘I love who I am. I love life. Life loves me. It’s going to be smooth and easy. Life works for me.’ And you just start doing that—it’s planting seeds. You’re not going to get it the first day, but you plant a seed and you water it and you continue the affirmations, and things start to shift and change in your life.”

History of the Law of Attraction
The core ideas of the Law of Attraction went viral when “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne was released. Modern day renditions infuse neuroscience and quantum physics into the mix as Dr Joe Dispenza and Amit Goswami moved the core ideas into a more science-based approach.
“In 1877, the term ‘law of attraction’ appeared in print for the first time in a book written by Helena Blavatsky.[5] By the end of the 19th century the term was being used by New Thought authors such as Prentice Mulford and Ralph Trine, but for them the law of attraction not only affected health but every other aspect of our lives.” Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_attraction_(New_Thought)

Health: How can law of attraction help your health?
Many authors including retired surgeon Dr. Bernie Siegel believe that all health issues very rarely have to do with a person’s physical health and have more to do with their thoughts of worry, fear, stress, etc. Dr. Joe Dispenza and Eric Perlman has had many healing miracles occur during their seminars when students aligned their unhealthy energy with the universal energy that vibrates at a higher frequency.

Law of Attraction Tips
There are many different techniques for manifesting your desires including vision boards, prayers, affirmations, journaling, and meditations. Regardless of the technique, all of them have a similar structure explained in the steps below:
What are the main steps needed to manifest your desire?
- Relax your mind. This moves your brain to a higher state of consciousness and enables you to tap into your unconscious.
- Be clear about your intention. Know exactly what it is that you want. The clearer you are, the more likely you can manifest your ideal results.
- Ask the Universe for it.Send out your request to the universe. It helps to really live as though you have already achieved the intention you are hoping. See a picture of what you want with as much detail as you can engender.
- Act as if it’s already happening.Declarative statements of faith such as “So be it”, “This or something better” assumes that the reality you want is already occurring in the quantum field.
- Feel it.An elevated emotion is critical in receiving what you want. You must change the frequency and vibration with a powerful feeling. See it happening and feel as though what you want is happening right now.
- Show gratitude. Being thankful and showing gratitude shifts your energetic state. Thanking the universe and people who have helped you is key to creating your new reality. Learn more about gratitude with Brother David.
- Let it go: Let the universe deliver something that meets your highest good. Be patient and don’t let your expectations get in the way of observing the miracle from what manifests. Do not be concerned over the ‘how’ and ‘when’ of things appearing. There is no use to micro-manage the Universe by telling It how your life should unfold.
Why do some people not manifest what they want?
Michael Pearlman explains that we may not get the results we want using the Law of Attraction because we have not effectively separated the heart’s desire from the ego’s desire.
The heart’s desire, which Michael Pearlman describes as synonymous with the soul’s desire or will, is different than what he calls the ego. The heart’s desire is akin to when you are an infant – open, trusting, and knowing. The ego may be described as the body-mind, conditioned mind, identity, persona or self-psychology. The ego’s desire is based on your social conditioning with how you have to be to “fit in”.
Michael Pearlman explains that true manifestation demands that we translate our ego’s desire into a heart desire. Hear more about the process he uses below.
What are the main steps of Law of attraction Journaling?
In this video, Michael Pearlman describes the two streams of consciousness that are helpful to journal on in order for true manifestation to occur – a heart consciousness and an ego consciousness. The law of attraction journaling process enables both the heart and soul to have a voice by conversing with both parts and journaling throughout. Step 1: WHAT DO YOU WANT TO MANIFEST? What is not quite right? What has my attention? What do I want to address about my health? Distill it down to 2-3 words (e.g.-Healthy spinal alignment)
Step 2: APPRECIATION What feels good; the experiences that are valued and wanted? What feels right with my health? What is working for me as it relates to my physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being? What do I value and what brings me delight and joy? (The purpose of this step is to raise your happiness and thereby your vibration)
Step 3: KNOWING- What my heart knows? Recall an experience in which your physical body was comfortable, for example, a day on the ski slopes where every turn was smooth and effortless; or perhaps a time when you felt alive and joyful when embracing a loved one. What other examples reveal a clear awareness or recognition of your physical, emotional and/or spiritual expressions of being present in the moment? (By recording these experiences in the Knowing field, you are anchoring them as your points of higher vibration consciousness, your spiritual beingness).
Step 4: VISION – How my heart desires things to be? In the Vision field, you open to intention, choice and purpose. Here you are deliberately creating; how would you like your healthy garden to be? What emerges when you inquire in this moment, “How would I feel if I were physically, emotionally and spiritually aligned with my highest aspirations?” Through your imagination, see, feel and know your truth, the vibrational resonance of who and what you truly desire to express as a holistically healthy being. Consider this Vision prompt as a thought starter to enhance your exploration of your physical, emotional and spiritual health by completing the following: Wouldn’t it be nice if …? I love it when I’m being …
Step 5: CURRENT REALITY – My conditioned mind discerning discordance. Here you explore with a simple inquiry, what is not yet quite right about your physical, emotional, and spiritual health — the Polaroid snapshot of your Current Reality. However you have arrived at what is not yet quite right about your health, usually through learned beliefs and attitudes, your present bodily condition is reflected as your Current Reality. What doesn’t feel good about your health? What, where and how in your body do you experience this discomfort? A suggestion would be to simply ask yourself some of these questions, relax and allow what thoughts and feelings arise.
Step 6: ACTION – Clarifying desires and creating small steps to move forward. Your most important action is to clarify what is truly wanted and not wanted through the revealing and reframing of your thoughts and feelings via the Perspectives in your Law of Attraction Journal. In the space or stillness of reflection you will intuit guidance as to what effortless and reasonable action steps you might take to move you to what you desire for your health and / or handle what’s not yet quite right. Surrender or relax into the process. Your intuitive guidance is all that is needed to activate the Law of Attraction.
Vibration and Energy
What does it mean to elevate your thinking from fear to a higher vibration of love? Understand that your power of manifestation is centered at the point of attraction, the energy of those thoughts and feelings at which you are currently vibrating.
